A short book review

Genocide, of the Ethnic Germans in Yugoslavia 1944-1948, European English-Language Edition, published by the Documentation Committee of the Danube Swabians Cultural Foundation in Munich 2003. The European Edition is registered under ISBN 3-926276-47-9. The hardcover bound book of 224 pages is printed on high quality paper and includes several colored historical maps.

The Danube Swabian Cultural Foundation of Munich/Germany has published this book as a final documentation of a series of books concerning the ethnic cleansing of Yugoslavian citizens of German descent residing in that country at the conclusion of WWII. What must be stressed, that it took place primarely in peace time, during the post war years of WWII 1944-1948. It is a summary of the four volume documentation of more than 4,000 pages entitled “Leidensweg der Deutschen im kommunistischen Jugoslawien” (Way of the Cross of the Germans in Communist Yugoslavia) and is complemented by many other pertinent sources.

The European Book Edition, is especially suited for such individuals, who want to learn about the atrocities which took place, ending the existence of the Danube Swabians in Yugoslavia, where today only 1% of the population (500,000) of 1944 is living now. It is perfectly suited for research with its wealth of informations and includes all references required to study and research the dramatic events of that period in Yugoslavia.

When ordering Genocide be sure to specifically order the European Book Edition.
